Is Delayed Truly Denied?

Initially, I decided to publish this post on Sunday to align with my schedule (you’ll hear me say in the recording that I would publish this Sunday). But after traveling for 5+ hours and spending all weekend walking the unnecessarily cold streets of Boston, I thought: “Let me wait until Monday.”

Monday quickly turned into Tuesday and now I realize why I was called to wait.

Today, or the day I am publishing, is Tuesday, 02/22/2022.

In numerology, the number 22 is one of the three Master Numbers. 22 is considered The Master Builder, a creative energy that has the powerful ability to manifest dreams, ideas, concepts, thoughts into this 3D plane. An energy that doesn’t just think but successfully executes.

As we all take today, or any other day, to write or reflect on what it is we want in life, how we want to feel, & how we’ll work to get there, I think it’s also important to reflect on what we have already built.

Reflecting on the various ways our abilities have shown themselves in our life currently and how we’ve already proven to ourselves how capable we are in continuing to strive and receive what it is we desire.

And, as we move past today, or any other day, waiting & working for our manifestations to become concrete, I thought I’d now share with you, on 02/22/2022, my thoughts on when our expectations or wants are being delayed.

Listen below or continue reading :

Note: Ideas and concepts are exactly the same in both the text and the recording. I chose to incorporate both for those who prefer to listen and those who prefer to read or are hard of hearing. Whether you read or listen, you won’t miss anything. I promise.

On days where I’m questioning who I am, where I am in life, and doubting the path I’ve traveled so far in life, I try to encourage myself with words and reminders.

The biggest reminder being that, above all else: I trust.

I trust in myself, in God, in Divine Timing. I trust I deserve great things. Wonderful things. And that I have not been forgotten. I trust that whatever paths are laid before me, challenges, obstacles, they are all meant for my greater good.

In the end, I trust that whatever is meant for me will come at the right time. That there are factors and works at play that I am not aware of, that are being Divinely considered, therefore, my greatest wants will arrive when it’s the right time, always.

Nothing is being kept from me but only waiting for the perfect time to enter.

But after pouring these words into myself, I immediately said: “And delayed is not denied”.

I paused.

And I reflected on those words.

I noticed something was off. That phrase next to my proclaimed trust was…awkward.

How was I to say I trust in Divine Timing, which I believe to be without flaws, and believe in its “delays”?

It’s paradoxical.

Delays are inherently hindering. It’s a deferment or interruption that causes things to become or happen off schedule or late.

The opposite of “on time”.

So if things happen on time, if they happen when they need to according to our Higher Power for our greater good, is anything truly delayed?

This begs the question: To whom are our manifestations considered delayed?

When a blessing is being prepared for permanency, it’ll take a long time to arrive.

Certainly not to any Higher Power we believe to be working behind the scenes in our life.

Nothing is delayed according to Divine Timing.

And surely nothing is denied either. But it is our own distrust, impatience, fears, anxieties, and doubts that cause us to even believe in the concept of “delays” regarding our plans.

This reminds me of the story behind the viral Netflix series Squid Game. The writer-director, Hwang Dong-hyuk went broke pushing his idea for the story and ultimately decided to lay it to rest for 10 years before pitching it again.

Dong-hyuk mentioned that when he first pitched the idea, executives thought it was unrealistic and too violent. A staunch difference from what executives told him when it pitched it again. This time, now, he was told the story was timely, plausible, and perfect.

Hearing he sat with this idea for a decade had thousands of people on social media praising Dong-hyuk for his resilience and perseverance. He was a testimony to “never give up” and to “keep going” because you never know when you’ll finally hear “yes”.

And although I agree with this sentiment the one factor I was called to notice at was the timing of it all.

Not only, like the executives said, was it socially the right time for the telling of Dong-hyuk’s story, it was the right environment.

The increase of users on steaming services, the virality of social media like TikTok (which had just reached 1 Billion users), the talented actors and actresses who established themselves in the industry, the new awareness of social constructs, the openness to scenarios that would’ve been disregarded before the world entered a life-altering pandemic- it was the perfect storm for Dong-hyuk to have massive success.

Squid Game dropped and became a phenomena.

We saw Halloween costumes, parodies, memes, new articles, news segments, RESTAURANTS, people across the globe were talking, tweeting, posting, creating special content all around Squid Game.

And I couldn’t help but think: What if he got that “yes” 10 years ago?

Stay patient, don’t get so discouraged. You’ll be glad you waited.

None of the factors that led to Squid Game’s takeover, at least not at this level of influence, were around 10 years ago.

Now truly was the perfect time for his “yes”.

Waiting 10 years wasn’t a punishment for Dong-hyuk. It was what was what was best for him and his idea. It’s what was needed to reach this level of achievement in his career.

So, what if waiting doesn’t represent some sort of delay but represented a promise of how much care is being intermixed into delivering our desires?

What if time was a clue of how much better whatever it is we’re waiting on will be?

What length of time equaled perfection and not punishment?

Consider this:

Consider the intricate art pieces we often admire and how much time it took for its completion.

Consider how we value the age of wine & spirits, waiting as along as possible to indulge.

Consider why we may marinate meat over night for enhanced taste.

Consider our willing patience for the flowers to bloom.

Consider all the moments, even the minuscule, in which if something was done quickly, you wouldn’t be assured in its quality.

Nothing that is being prepared for you is delayed. It is not denied.

It is instead being prepared with great care, detail. Deliberately stewing in excellence before faithfully being gifted to you for longevity.

Time is not your enemy. You are not doing nothing wrong.

Let your mind rest and relive yourself of unnecessary stressors surrounding time.

Time is your greatest friend and your best messenger.

It says to us: “More is being prepared.”

Anything that’s worth having for eternity is worth waiting for, remember that.

And I pray on the day you receive all that is owed to you, you are made aware of why you had to wait.
